A logged-in user can request someone else to send him a package. This function is especially useful when a user wants someone else to send him files, but the sender doesn't know how to do it. The user will then send a request to the sender, who will receive an e-mail that will guide him/her to a pre-filled form for sending a package.
The function used to send a request looks like this:
The only required field is “Recipient’s e-mail” to whom the e-mail request will be sent. If the recipient clicks on the link in the email, a form similar to the one in the section Anonymous upload of a file package will open. The recipient of the request thus becomes the sender of the package.
The package Title and Note are optional. We recommend that you fill them in so that the recipient of the request will know what it concerns.
You can also optionally set a “Password for upload” with the request. If one is set, the recipient of the request has to enter it to create the package on the link. It is not the same password as for accessing the resulting package. This is set by the sender of the package (the recipient of the request).
After sending the request, the recipient of the request will receive an e-mail in the following format:
After opening the link above, the following form for uploading a package will be displayed:
Unlike Anonymous upload of a file package, the following is no longer filled in here:
Recipient – is pre-filled to the sender of the request and cannot be changed.
Title – the name of the request specified by the sender of the request is retained.
Sender’s name and e-mail – will be taken from the recipient of the request.
So the process of sending a package is as simple as can be. Just add the files and click the send button.
